Hot sauces created in Mexico generally have the best tasting flavor, take for example, Valentina Salsa Picante. The proudly Mexican hot sauce Cholula: Original is no exception, It has a mild enjoyable amount of spice that's just hot enough to give you the kick you're searching for but doesn't sacrifice an exceptional flavor. The flavor of Cholula is more than remarkable, It is a very nice smoky, nutty flavor with just the right amount of tanginess to bring it all together. Cholula is arguably one of the most universal sauces. For a vinegar based hot sauce like Frank's, it is fairly thick unlike some other vinegar based sauces. Cholula uses a combination Arbol and Pequin peppers, an Arbol pepper has a peak measurement of about 30,000 SHU and a Pequin pepper has a peak of about 60,000 SHU. The Scoville measurement of Cholula ranges from 1,000 to 2,000 SHU making it a fairly mild hot sauce but in my opinion has just the right amount of spice to match the flavor. Nonetheless, Cholula is a phenomenal choice for a hot sauce for spice lovers and flavor lovers alike and is most definitely worth a try especially if you would like a small taste of Mexico. My only complaint is that the regular sized bottle isn't large enough at a meager 350 milliliters (11.83 fluid ounces).
