Rick and Morty: Fiery Diablo

Some hot sauce companies create gift sets, usually with specific themes in mind. Rick and Morty, for some context, is an adult cartoon on the television network [adult swim] which hosts an array of adult television shows. The company Modern Gourmet Foods teamed up with [adult swim] to create one of many Rick and Morty hot sauce gift sets, with a set of four different types of hot sauces. The hot sauce names from left to right are Fiery Diablo, Smokey Chipotle, Del Fuego and Wrecked Red Chili. For Rick and Morty fans, these sauces are great because it's a neat concept for a gift for fans of the show. For hot sauce enthusiasts, especially those who aren't necessarily fans of the show like myself, the sauces seem like they were made with minimal effort because they don't need to be good to sell because they are themed for fans.

This post in particular isn't about the set of sauces as a whole but one sauce within it, particularly Fiery Diablo. Fiery Diablo is made with red chili peppers and chili powder, so an adequately mild sauce. There's not much to talk about here but bottom line is that the sauce meaning is "Fiery Devil" fiery reflecting heat and Diablo means Devil which reflects a Satanic theme which is a topic I have written about in the past. The peak Scoville heat measurement isn't made clear but my estimate is about 5,000 to 30,000 SHU because red chili peppers have a peak measurement of roughly 100,000 SHU and because those peppers are in a hot sauce, the spice of the pepper is diluted by other ingredients. This sauce is a very watery like sauce, so watery that it will pour out of the bottle at a rapid rate. I personally do not enjoy thin sauces no where near as much as I enjoy thicker sauces, as I've stated before in other posts. I would not recommend this sauce to any enthusiasts of hot sauces but it is worth a try because that's just my personal preference.
