The Sauces

The creation of different hot sauces over the years makes a vast array of different flavors and levels of spice. Different brands and types of sauces are necessary to fit with peoples personal preferences, sure there are sauces that are near universally enjoyed such as, Frank's Red Hot but some people will not enjoy everything and others have very specific tastes in hot sauces which is why there are so many different flavors to experiment with.

Personally, I will usually try to go for the hottest possible sauce especially on wing night. A restaurant in my hometown holds wing night every Wednesday and Thursday and their hottest flavor is called Xtreme Hot. Xtreme Hot is made with a sauce that uses orange habanero peppers, one of the hottest peppers in the world with a peak heat measurement of about 350,000 scoville units. This flavor for the most part is a hit or miss, what I mean by that is sometimes I'll find myself suffering and other times it's like eating Cholula sauce. Don't get me wrong I like some good flavor once in a while but when it comes to wings I like to suffer. Most of the sauces I will use are more 'higher end' if you will or black label, so Aubrey D. sauces or sauces from Get Sauced. the Aubrey D. Reaper 51 sauce for scale has a retail price normally starting at about 10 dollars for a 150 milliliter bottle and the Get Sauced Reaper Pepper sauce usually starts at approximately 18 dollars for a 150 fifty milliliter bottle. Both sauces are well worth the money, I don't really have a problem with spending good money on  good quality sauces with good flavor and extreme heat.
